Bronwyn Eley
Fantasy Author
~
Bronwyn grew up in Sydney, Australia with a yearning to see as much of the world as possible - which explains why she now lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. She spends much of her time popping in and out of other countries, and exploring as much of Scotland as she can. Her other passions include photography, travel and martial arts but her truest passion is telling stories through her writing.
An avid reader of fantasy, speculative fiction, historical fiction, and crime - Bronwyn found her home when she started writing fantasy. Her first YA fantasy series (The Relic Trilogy) was published by an Australian indie publishing house, a tale of dark magic and even darker thoughts.
The first book in Bronwyn's new romantasy series (The Rule) will be published in March 2025 with Pantera Press, an adventure written for anyone who has always had a thing for assassins.

The rule
Book one in the trials of Power series
She has lived only in shadows, but now she must step into the light.
Born and raised by the Baleful, an assassin guild spoken of only in hushed rumours, Zinha is chosen for a dangerous assignment – a game of seduction with a deadly goal that will test everything she’s trained for. The King wishes to invade the neighbouring country of Maetora, but he must first neutralise their ruler – and her dangerous magic.
Zinha infiltrates The Trial of Power, a magical competition during which the Maetorian Heir chooses his consort. She must seduce the Heir, uncover his mother’s secrets and topple their kingdom from within. But Heir Reyher is not what she expected, and neither are the Maetorians. Especially Mateo, a fellow contestant with his own secrets.
As Zinha gains more distance from the darkness of her previous life, doubts begin to surface about everything she’s been told. When rumours of a rival assassin threaten her success – and the lives of the people she has come to love – Zinha is forced to choose between the powerful bonds of her past and the fragile hope of an unexpected future. Because time is running out, and the Baleful live by only one rule:
Succeed or die.

"On the surface, this is a story of magic and romance, power and politics. But underneath is a story about those brave enough to unpick their own inherited beliefs. The Rule is a lifetime in the making and I am so thrilled to be working with Pantera Press to bring Zinha’s story to the world of romantasy." - Bronwyn Eley
"With its immersive setting, fully realised characters, and dramatic conflict, The Rule is the kind of book that consumed me, keeping me up reading way past my bedtime. I can’t wait for other readers to discover this delicious novel so I will finally have people with whom I can dissect every aspect! Just a perfect example of how romantasy novels can be." - Kate Cuthbert, Editorial Director at Pantera Press

- I loved this book. The relentless twists and turns keep you guessing right to the very end. I couldn’t put it down! The writing is very clever, you get lulled into a false sense of security and then WHAM! Plot twist! Oh, and another one! What a brilliant debut.
Goodreads review (relic)
